Drinking cranberry juice can significantly reduce the risk of urinary tract infections (UTIs), according to a recent study led by researchers at Bond University.
The study found that people who drink cranberry juice are 54% less likely to develop UTIs.

The study, which included researchers from the University of Oxford and the University of Helsinki, also found that cranberry juice reduced the need for antibiotics by 59% and significantly alleviated symptoms in those currently suffering from a UTI.
Drinking more water or taking cranberry tablets also provided benefits, although not as effectively as drinking cranberry juice. Combining cranberry with fluid, such as in juice form, was the most effective method.
UTIs are a common issue, affecting about 50% of women and 20% of men at some point in their lives. The findings of this study suggest that incorporating cranberry juice into one’s diet could be a simple and natural way to prevent these infections.
